Vans Group, Barcelona
Shiu Kay Kan (SKK) has been asked by Creative Resource London and Vans to develop a lighting scheme for the very first Vans store in Barcelona devoted to stylish and discerning Barcelonians who love shoes and skateboarding.
One of the features of the lighting scheme involves a LED RGB system so that the lights (No Fruits - Belgium) and signs have synchronised colour changes.
Natural Shoe Shop, London
Here we specified a neutral white LED link system for the under shelf lighting.
This colour was used to achieve an almost natural light so as not to make the organic leather of the shoes look discoloured to the customer.
Irregular Choice, London
"Irregular Choice is more than just the name of a brand. It's a state of mind, a way of being."
As there was no way of switching the LEDs off the client needed a remote control system. We provided one that could achieve different effects, such as a starry night to give the area some character and keeping it in style with the brands quirky appearance.
Soho Penthouse, London
This penthouse is one of the first properties in London to be completely LED. With the rise in energy cost, efficiency was important to the client.
We used a dimmable 8w LED through out the house to down light, and a series of 1w LEDs for accent lighting.
Grand Buildings, Trafalgar Sq. London
This £50 million building is built of Portland stones. The external facade occupies 25% of the square providing a spectacular lighting background. There is a bamboo garden containing 'grow lamps' in the atrium. The lift, lobbies and general lighting was achieved using compact fluorescent 24w lamps enabling energy saving without causing visual disruption with excessive light fittings for such a vast building.
Irish Law Society, Dublin
The lighting concept consists of up lighting using a customised chandelier involving rings of 10w 12v capsule halogen lamps. Very discreet and careful hanging methods were used as the ceiling rose is a 17th century Georgian construction.
Memorial Gate Constitutional Hill, London
A memorial by Buckingham Palace put up for the World War II Commonwealth soldiers. The lighting concept uses discreet invisible CDM lights installed underground with bronze louvers to ensure there is no glare.
